5 Simple Ways to Practice Kindness & Boost Your Happiness

Do you ever notice how happy you feel after a random act of kindness?

Whether it was donating to a charity, helping someone in need or just a random smile to a complete stranger – the effects of kindness are immediate! 

Kindness is gift to the receiver but it also makes you feel happy too, right? 

Here are 5 tips to help you make kindness a daily habit:

Be present

Give people your complete attention so you can really connect and be genuinely attentive to them.  The worst is when someone is talking to you and you can’t take your eyes off the tv/phone! 

Disconnect so you can connect

Do you walk around with your eyes glued to your device?  Why not unplug and strike up a random conversation with someone… you might just make their day (and yours too!).  Kindness doesn’t have to be grand to be powerful.

Feel your Joy

The more you feel joy and gratitude, the more you can positively impact others around you.  Let your positivity extend to people around you by being open to feeling it yourself.

Be kind to yourself

You can only be as kind to others as you are to yourself. So practice patience, love and gratitude for yourself daily and in turn it will be much easier to extend it out to others.

Practice unconditionally

Kindness isn’t just reserved for those closest to you or those who you think deserve it… True kindness is about putting your judgments aside and embracing all beings no matter what their beliefs, values, attitudes.
